Ribs!!

Postby bogiedr » Sat Apr 10, 2021 10:10 pm

Tomorrow I will post photos my hybrid ribs. My Daniel Boone quit for no reason 40 minutes into the cook, 5 minutes later typical Florida thunderstorm. Kamado Joe had not warmed up enough, threw them in the oven at 260 for an hour and a half. Kamado got to 250 in the middle of the rain. Finished then in the Joe for 30 minutes ... best ribs ever!! Used Big Green Egg pecan rub, delicious. Again photo tomorrow, my iPad decided it did not want to work, maybe on strike with the Boone :D

Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes! All of you are incredible people!
Thank you!
Photo tomorrow.

You guys realize that you are amazing! I am thrilled and touched by your support and encouragement, you’ve become family! Thank you.
I will figure out tomorrow how to get pics posted and then post.
Thanks for your prayers and by the way, good report card today from oncologist, blood work stable all looking good. No remission but stability means I’ll be around for quite some time. Lots of smoked meats coming up, woo hoo!
Thank you my great friends, I’ll make sure I post more often.

Nice dinner.

Well the ribs photo does not want to cooperate so I’ll move on. My wife had a tough week and of course she takes such great care of bogiedr that the only way I can make it up to her is to cook or grill, smoke her favorites. I always make sure her favorite wine is available in the wine rack :D

Sunday I was feeling pretty rough, leftover effects from chemo but I was determined not to let my baby down! Decided a small sirloin and a lobster tail on the charcoal Webber was the ticket. Lobster did not look too good but wow, incredible flavor and perfectly grilled, according to her! The sirloin was perfect rare to medium rare, and the roasted potatoes were awesome as air fried by her. Great dinner followed by great music. It was a very nice, rewarding weekend.

Tomorrow while at treatment I will start the next blog for outside-edges.com. It will publish Friday morning. I will also start planning next weekends menu, this time on the kamado joe. I will let you know what is next! Meantime, lets keep smoking and grilling, can’t experiment enough with this hobby that has become a passion.

Have a great week, I will post again soon. Thank you everyone.
