Electric smoker...

Postby fishinman » Tue Jan 26, 2010 11:00 am

Yeah, yeah,, I know I'm not a true "smoker" with this electric stuff...but, I'm just easin' into this smokin' stuff (a real rookie newbie!)---Question...how much should the exhaust be open? half? fully? Also, many of the recipes say to use only a 1/4 cup of chips when smokin' ..seems to be gone in a hurry to me.....any other advice when using an electric smoker? Thanks!

wish i could help you on this. i know nothing about electric smokers, but if forced, i would venture that the exhaust adjustment would just affect the amount of smoke flavor imparted. so i would think that a fully opened exhaust would impart less smoke flavor.

now on a side note, why not head on over the the member introduction thread, introduce yourself, and give us a heads up about you and stuff like that. also welcome to the forum.
