My favorite thing to do @ the Texas Motorplex

Postby Toontroller » Wed Sep 30, 2009 10:37 am

Nope.....Not watching the cars go by real fast
Nope.....Not watching the skimpy dressed girls in the booths (although that's a dang close second!)

It's preparing 350lbs of whole sirloins for Sunday's Buffet style lunch!

Fat side down first.....It's fixing to get entertaining.
Image

Don't panic! It's gonna get bigger
Image

This side almost done.
Image

Done, time to pull and flip.
Image

Terrible picture they look burnt but they are not, just waiting for the blaze to die down and back in meat side down
Image

After a overnight rest in the refrigerated truck back on the smoker Sunday morning for finishing up.....internal temps 110 for those being held in the oven, 120 for those going straight to the carving station.

I forgot the camera when we went across the track to sample the fruits of our labor so no pictures of any of them being sliced :banghead: I was very pleased with the outcome though. So was the chef who served them.

During the second batch my eldest daughter came running up and said "Dad! You cannot believe the crowd of people watching ya'll from the fence!" 8)

Now that's a good way to get a sear on those roasts!

Now my favorite thing to do at the Motorplex was to drive a real fast car down the track...

When are ya out there next? Do ya only do the Nationals? I'm still gonna get down there for one of yer shindigs.

James I'll be at the ADRL races next month but not sure if I'll have the pit or be in the kitchen.

If nothing conflicts with the schedule, I'll drag the kids down to that one. Love those Pro Mods and Pro Stockers.

Is that the race Oct 23 & 24? If so I will probably be there too. Went to Cowtown Speedway this past Sat night and bought a program. They gave me four 2 day passes for the drag races with my program.

I believe that could be my favorite thing to do anywhere. I'll bet the crowd watching were mighty impressed by the flames - better than watching Food Network!!

I made it on here today. It was good talking to you yesterday. It sure looks like you had your hands full @ the race track. I think this site might come in pretty handy. Thanks.

Welcome! Hilbilydlux111 glad to see you made it over here. Theres a fine group of fellows here with a wide range of knowledge and ideas. Head on up to the wanted posters section and tell em about yourself. Make sure to post a big pic of your pit! Maybe a pic of your truck in the garage :D

Fellows this man can park a truck now! :salut:

Picked up a pair of RV steps Hilbilydlux111 had laying around, going to make getting on and off the trailer a whole lot easier for us fat boys!
