where to get metal doors & grates for brick smoker?

Postby achtungpv » Thu Aug 14, 2008 11:05 am

I have been too successful (or lucky) with some major remodeling projects lately and figure I have the skills to build a brick smoker/grill in the backyard. It will either be a glorious failure or a lifetime of good eats.

Can somebody provide a source for metal doors and grates? I'm in Austin if that helps.

Welcome.:D Wish I could help but, I'm too far away. :D I'm sure one of the members that are closer to you will chime in shortly. :D
In the mean time stop over to the Wanted section and introduce yourself. :D

Do you have any metal fab shops in your area? They should be able to build you what ever you need.

Oh and welcome to the forum!

Might try any local fireplace supply store for the doors. Grates can be purchased from grill supplier depending on size or made from expanded metal fairly cheap.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have narrowed down a couple of places that can make the doors.
