Boneless Leg Of Lamb

Postby Canadian Bacon » Thu Apr 03, 2008 7:56 pm

I want to throw a boneless leg of lamb on the smoker this weekend,I have never done lamb on the smoker, any thoughts on temps and roughly how long it will take and what kind of smoke would be best suited for lamb.

I would cook it to an internal temp of 150*. I would use apple wood for smoke or some type of light flavored fruit wood on lamb.JMHO :D

Here's how I did my last one:

It was a little more done than I like but I cooked for the Mrs and she likes it that way.

Just a quick update with some pics,I whipped up a creamy mushroom sauce and marinated the leg of lamb overnite in olive oil, garlic and fresh rosemary.I fired up the smoker and cooked it for 3 1/2 hours @ 250* with cherry smoke.I pulled it at 145* internal and let rest for 45 minutes.I boiled up some taters and veggies and laid the sauce to it.Homemade applepie for dessert :D. Here's a couple pics, enjoy.
