German Smoke Chips

Postby BBQFRITZ1 » Mon Aug 31, 2020 9:42 am

Hi Folks,

I am a German and thinking about exporting wood chips from Germany into the US (apple, pear, cherry, oak etc).
Would such wood chips be interesing for the US BBQ community?
I mean would you guys buy such wood chips?

Just trying to get a feeling whether it makes sense to look into this or not.

Thanks a lot for your feedback!!

All of the varieties you mentioned are natively grown and available in the US - what is the difference/advantage of your chips?

For sure I´d buy them, but not from the USA

You would also have a lot of agricultural problems from customs as well. We have containers from work quarantined all the time from insects from wooden pallets(From Germany). As mentioned we have all types of wood chips and chunks at retail stores as well. Mesquite, oak, hickory, pecan are the most popular as well as your fruit woods. Good luck on your venture.
How bout some more beans Mr.Taggert? I'd say you've had enough!
