Thanks.
It's looking more like a mixed-precip event as the forecast matures so we may be lucky and get away with only a few inches of snow.
However, I may have a good excuse not to go back to the dentist tomorrow.

Our event turned out to be mostly rain this morning (so I made it to the dentist ).
However, the snow started in earnest this afternoon and we may wind up with up to 6" of wet, heavy snow. We just hope that we don't lose power.
This was earlier, when the snow picked up:
We hope you're OK there, WV.

My generator sits idle 99.9% of the time but....comes in darn handy when needed.

Re: Hunker Down Sailor & PB !
Well, we got our power back early this morning, after being out for 9 hours. Hot coffee is a wonderful thing!
Our main ISP (& cable TV) is still out, but at least we have a cellular signal.
The funny thing is, Bill, we also have a small generator. However, we don't have an enclosure for it, to run it in a snow storm (I was planning to set it up outside today if we were still without power, since the storm is over). Any enclosure ideas?
Thanks Everyone!

Here's something quick and easy to whoop up and you could even add another board for a floor if needed. If you connect them all together with hinges to where they would fold together flat and store easily it might be what you need. I would use 1/4" OSB on my first effort cause it's pretty durable in the weather - - - it has always been a go-to for our deer stands in the past and we never had rot or water damage with it. Let your imagination go wild and Good Luck.

Don't know, I stole the pic, but they seem to be - - - alum sheets would be a little pricey but darn sure top quality - - if it were I, I would fab something for a trial run and then if I fell in love with it, maybe step up in quality
you could also 'gable' your roof if needed

I use mine in snow without any shelter with no problems, the heat from the engine keeps things pretty well melted (except for the gas tank in heavy snow). I will cover the plug when I use it in the rain.
