What's cooking this weekend? (Super Bowl)

Postby TX1911 » Thu Feb 02, 2017 12:38 pm

I know, I know, it's only Thursday, but, with the Super Bowl this weekend, I presume there will be a ton of cooking going on. I have, however, been wrong before. It was a sad day.

We're doing a small shindig, so it'll be ribs and wings.

What about y'all?

My UDS's maiden voyage will be Superbowl Sunday. Only guest beyond my immediate familiy will be my dad and his wife. Thinking a Boston Butt, some bacon wrapped jalapenos, and some chicken thighs.

I'm pelletizing a rack of Hawg Bonz tomorrow (I could care less about the Super Bowl) - - - found a sale at HEB and I paid more for ONE pound of Mudbugs today than the entire 12 bone rack cost me. :dont: :laughing7:

:banghead: Any one out there want to throw down this Sunday at Lake Whitney???? I'm thinking start the year off with BRISKET and Wings for the nature of the Super Bowl weekend. Small 100% payback throw down and cooks appointed judges.

Any takers, let me know?!?!?

So me and my buddy are doing a rack of lamb, some sausage, 3 briskets, a couple of pork shoulders, some leg quarters and 7 racks of ribs. I think that will be enough, maybe if something else wanders by, we will throw it on also. :laughing7:

I just put my Sunday/SuperBowl wangs in their marinade
salt, a mix of seasonings, & Italian salad dressing
i use produce bags from the grocery to marinade in
so it keeps the marinade (brine) close to the meat
i'll turn these a few times before i cook them on Sunday
