Something A Little Different, Chinatown Ribs

Postby jmcrig » Sun Jan 29, 2017 5:53 pm

Read a recipe that caught my eye for Chinatown Ribs. Very simple rub, salt, pepper, sugar, onion powder, and five spice. Sauce is hoisin, Asian sesame oil, honey, and Sriracha. This picture is at the 2 hour point.

Looking even better! I need to resupply my asian spices. You're really provoking me with these ribs

And here are the finale shots. Ribs cooked great, but didn't care for the rub/sauce combination. Will stick with my old standby Char Siu recipe.

Hoisin sauce is in my repertoire as well. I cook Chinese as well. Made chicken n corn soup last Sunday. Chinese favourite, also my daughters.

Rib colour is awesome.

If you want a different Asian flavor try substituting Korean BBQ sauce for the Sriracha.

Fpink , my daughter also used that sauce, I'm getting some next time I'm at an Asian store, I've been to Seoul so I love their food. Not enough of it down here though.thanks for reminder.
