Best ribs EVER

Postby GourmetBooger » Tue Jun 23, 2015 3:00 pm

Hey all,

The names Tim and I'm about to show you how to make the best ribs you've ever ate.

I've been making ribs like this forever. They've won numerous awards and accolades. Here's the best part: they don't take the hours of time that you think they'd make.

So, without further haste, my recipe:

Get you a package of ribs
Combine a couple quarts or gallons of water
Add in a couple cans of beer
Boil the ribs for a total of one and a half hours (1 hour/30 minutes)
Take the ribs, place in a gallon ziplock bag and fill with your favorite bar bee queue sauce. The best I've ever had is Kraft Original.
Place the bags with the sauce and ribs in the freezer for 20-30 minutes.
Then, finish off on the grill for 15 minutes (while the sauce gets crispy)

Trust me, these are the best you've ever had. Once you've made them this way, you'll never want them any other way.

Enjoy!

Tim

I just moved from Alaska to Texas and love all the bbq here.

The boiling thing is how we cook a lot of elk and deer. the sauce kraft though, that doesn't sound good. Where does the rope come into though?

Folks in Texas can get themselves strung up for boiling ribs. Boiling aint BBQ. :whiteflag:

No worries, we will get you up to speed in a jiffy on BBQ - next thing you know you will throw away that rib-boiling pot and get a real Texas BBQ pit.

The basics are - real meat, real wood, real fire and (mostly) real slow cooking. BIG debate on if sauce is even needed - dont step in to that one.

Do some reading on the board, that should cure you...

Don't get all high and mighty with me.

I have won awards with my bar bee queue ribs. I will put them up to anyones on here, there, or worldwide.

I am not sure that boiling ribs accomplishes much as far a developing flavors. IMO you have passed up the chance to achieve the correct textures, and depths of flavor that you get from indirect smoke and some simple salt and pepper. To each their own I suppose. But for me I like to have some tooth to my ribs. A nice smoke ring doesn't hurt either.

I know I am new here but I am far from new to BBQ and everything you just said is just BBQ blasphemy. I just can't imagine doing that to ribs when i have a smoker that gives me juicy, tender, flavorful ribs it may take a little longer and a bit more effort since my pit is kinda garbage, so I cant walk away for 20 minutes without worrying about the temp fluctuating on me. I guess what I'm saying is please stop doing that to pork buddy.
