Building my first grill...

Postby yohannon » Tue Apr 28, 2015 5:46 am

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum but it so far looks great. In the next week or two, I plan on building a smoker. I happen to live in a region of the world where unfortunately everyone thinks BBQ means regular grilling and there is no supply of real BBQ to be found. It's quite depressing. So, I'm looking into building a smoker which is good for beginners but can possibly cater to sizable gatherings. I figure a 55 gallon drum smoker seems the most practical for my purposes. I'm hoping someone can recommend a good build for it, personal experience, or any reads which will flesh out the pros and cons of whatever the builds may be. Any advice or tips will be appreciated!

Thanks
