Brush up on you bricking skills. Craig's list free section for bricks and surf you tube for tips.
Thank You to all the fine folks here for all the tips and advice so I can now smoke a chunk of meat and folks actually eat it.

This was my sons senior project in H.S
Sounded like a good idea at the time
4 tons on rock, mortar and sand later

You can usually find those round fire rigs all over the place for under 100 bucks and some nice ones for a little more than that.

Re: outdoor firepit
The slickest cheap setup I've seen was the end cut off of a concrete culvert (probably scrap) set on the ground. this was at a deer camp but one could dry stack rock around it or whatever.

sounds like my project that started with free stone lol
The landscaping place by my house sells stone from previous buildings(some has mortar) you can prob find some nice pieces if going for a cheap, quick solution...2 bags or mortar, stack em and bingo!
these are the said rocks
long story short
