Had to try Egghead's Turkey Burgers on my CI griddle

Postby Smokey Lew » Thu Nov 04, 2010 12:48 pm

Egghead posted a turkey burger recipe a week or so ago that I had to try out on my new CI griddle. This burger recipe will stand head-to-toe with any burger! They came out fantastic. Thanks Egghead! :D

Here's how I mixed up the meat for my burgers.
1.25 lb. (appx) of ground turkey.
0.5 lb. (appx) of ground pork.
3 chopped up green onions.
1 chopped up jalapeno pepper (seeds & veins removed).
1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
2 Tbsp. of Suckle Busters Hoochie Mama BBQ rub.

First I heated my CI griddle on the Performer, added cooking oil when it was nice and hot, then put on the potatoes.
Image

Added some onion and seasoned the potatoes with more Hoochie Mama.
Image

Took off the potatoes when they were golden brown and added a little more oil, then the burgers.
Image

Onions were done so I had room now to add the last two burgers on the griddle.
Image

Plated turkey burger with some homemade mango BBQ sauce and onions on top. Potatoes on the side with a green salad.

I have never heard of nor seen a "C1" griddle like that. I must go search and google and see what I can learn about the design, and where they come from. The food looks awesome, but I am also now on the prowl for learning about the C1.

thanks for the post!

Actually, the griddle is a La Plancha and it cost $79.95 on-line at Williams-Sonoma. Here's the link.

Smokey, thanks for that link. I had not come up with anything on it.
