Craigslist Find-More Pics

Postby SmokinMerc » Fri May 21, 2010 3:58 pm

Here is a SOB-Son of Brisket Smoker Grill Combo. Made by Mike Tiernan out in Amarillo. This bad boy weighs 175 and was the 25th one made back in 85. Great for indirect and has vent controls on the right hand side and the stack. Picked it up for 150.00 in Houston where it had not been cooked on in several years. Starting the refurb and this one will cook good when done.

Jim,

I will. I am cleaning up the insides tomorrow and painting the outside. I have ordered the custom ash pan, coal grid and offset inside firebox from Mike out in Amarillo. I will have those in another week. A C-note with shipping. The cooking grates are in good shape. I will post the inside pics tomorrow.

Thanks

I am going say the thickness is between and 1/8 and 3/16th. I will say this has been outside in the Houston humidity for 10 years and it is not even close to have any permanent rust damage. I probably won't smoke anything over 6 hours on this thing since I have the OK Joe for longer cooks. I have power washed it and will be painting the outside today. Here are some additional pics. This pit brand new is 650.00. Pretty nice for 150 plus another 100 for new guts.

Great job on bringing the Tiernan SOB to life. Great pits made in Amarillo Texas. Tiernan's
icookout.com might give you the specs on the SOB. I have had the larger SOB-48
since the early 1990's. Still smok'n and grillin after all these years.
