Hard 8 BBQ - Coppell TX

Postby Gator » Tue Jan 16, 2007 1:53 pm

Hard Eight BBQ
688 Freeport Parkway
Coppell TX 75019
(972) 471-5462

http://www.hardeightbbq.com/home.html

Now Open. I will review this joint shortly.

They are building a new BBQ joint right here in Coppell TX! We need a good 'Q joint. Has anyone been to Hard 8 BBQ? I think there is one in Stephenville. They have pits outside, similar to Coopers.

There is a Hard 8 somewhere around Mason. I've eaten there on my way out there deer huntin. Best bbq I ever ate. Heard there was one in Stephenville, but I haven't been there in a while. Would be worth the drive to eat there.

Back when i was in college in Stephenville there was a little red bbq shack out on the loop. dang good bbq.................

I ate at the one in Stephenville back in early Dec. with a couple of buddies, it was a Sunday for lunch. It was bad, prime rib was great, and the smoked turkey breast was really good.

That would be in Brady (the original Hard 8 ).

This is the best news I've heard since The Salt Lick announced it was opening a location on Joe Pool Lake (which didn't happen for some reason).

Postby V Nivens » Wed May 30, 2007 12:34 pm

Hello all you BBQ fans!! We are Hard-Eight..........
We are hoping to get open in the Coppell location middle of June. Rain and small issues have set us back on opening.
Actually our first Hard-Eight was in Stephenville. Brady came about a year later. We are very excited to get open in Coppell.
Hope to see every one there..........
Thanks,
Phillip and Vicki Nivens

Welcome Phillip & Vicki!!!

I haven't been able to made it to Hard 8 yet, but hope to someday. Even mentioned to my wife earlier today!

I hear alot of people are driving from the DFW metromess to Stephenville just to eat Hard 8! Now that tells me something!

A guy that I used to work with lives close by Hard 8 and is a regular there from what I hear.

Anyway, again, glad that you found us!!!

My BBQ reviewin' buddy Doc has been out there to the Hard 8, but i havent made it yet. He's a pretty tough critic and gave it pretty good marks....especially for the Northeast quadrant of the state. here's his review:

http://www.texasbbqreview.com/reviews/H ... -03-23.htm

I've got some friends in the real estate business...Last I heard the Salt Lick was still looking at Joe Pool. They were working with the Corp of Engineers to get some rights sorted out and changed so they could build along the shoreline. The Corp owns all of the land surrounding the lakes shoreline and being that they're government, i can imagine the process takes much longer when you're wanting to get something done. There was an article published in the Dallas Morning News about a year and a half ago on it. Salt Lick has been real particular in the way they want to develop the property. They're basically trying to replicate the feel of their Driftwood location.

Good luck to Hard 8 in Coppell!! I'll spread the word.
