A big howdy from N.Houston
Well after hearing a lot of good things about this forum I finally decided to sign up. I'm also a member of a couple of other bbq forums so some of y'all may already know me.
I'm a native Texan by way of Houston and very proud of it. I've been cooking comps both sanctioned(TGCBA) and non sanctioned about 9 months now and been having a blast at it..The comradery shown at these events is what keeps me competing..
I do all my cooking on a Lone Star custom bbq pit by Tom and his dedicated 2 man crew. Its a 24"x48"main chamber with a 24'and 36" vertical that has provisions for 6 racks, it also has twin propane gas burners with dual propane tanks. I really like my compact unit but we're gonna add a roof and overhead storage next month so I'll hopefully be posting some before and after pics of it..
I've had a chance to meet some great folks since joining bbq forums and have also made some good friends at the local cook offs here in the Houston area. I hope to able to learn and contribute to this great forum..
Thanks for having me..

Welcome and I'm kinda thinkin' of adding that overhead storage to my dream design. Let's see some pics and some of what you're thinkin' for that.

Northsider, what part of North Houston? I am in Spring.
I am getting real interested in doing a few comps, but I don't want to jump in with both feet just yet.
