National Pork Month Throw Down!

Postby DATsBBQ » Mon Oct 12, 2009 7:07 pm

INFO BELOW HAS BEEN REVISED. Complete rules on page 2 of this thread.

OK, instead of the regular 4 categories (Big Hunks of Meat, Ribs,Things with Wings and Any Thing Goes) this Throw Down will concentrate only on PORK :D Meaning Ribs, loins, chops, butts, whole pigs, hams... you get the idea. All other Throw Down rules apply.

To enter, send you pic to ThrowDown@ncre.biz" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" Pics should be at least 800X600 resolution for best results. To prove that you cooked for the Throw Down, write the word PORK on the back of a business card and have that in the photo. 8) A can of Spam in the photo will also be accepted 8)

Deadline to submit is 9PM, Central Time on November 2nd. The Poll will go up on November 3rd and run for 48 hours.

Folks wanting to donate prizes for the ThrowDown should P.M. me. High Value Prizes are discouraged as it leads to voter fraud that is easy to detect (The Deputies can tell when something is "fishy") but is very difficult to prove.

Gentlemen/women, Start your smokers in honor to NATIONAL PORK MONTH :D May the best Qer Win!

Wonder if someone submits one photo of a tenderloin, loin, wibbies, and butt (in the same pic) - not planning on doing this but just wondering.

That would work for me assuming that a "wibbies": is primarily made of pork. 8)

DATs, how many categories and what are the categories in the Pork Throwdown?? In your earlier post ( feeling out post ) you talked about doing 2 categories, Ribs and Big Hunks of Meat.
Is there also going to be an Anything Goes category for plated food or pics on the grill with other food the pic?

Jim,
Just one category (PORK) for this one.

I was thinking meat only. My thinking is that with only one category we might get more entries.

If y'all want Big Hunks of Meat, Ribs and Anything goes it isn't too late in the game to change it up. So then let's come to a resolution on this by this time tomorrow. Just post what you'd be in favor of. 8)
