i found a decent looking pit on craigslist made by smoke hollow... only trouble is i've never heard of them. anyone know their reputation or build quality?

I know nothing of the company, but if it is the grill/smoker on the San Antonio list it looks just like one I saw at Sam's. It is a typical entry level unit. Depending on price, I'm sure it would make a decent addition to someones arsenal.
The one I saw at Sam's had the adjustable coal grates under the grill grates. I can't remember how these operated. If it's one of those that use cables to adjust the coal grates, I'd avoid it, but if your just going to use it as an offset smoker you'd probably be good to go.

I bought this one at Sams and LOVE it!! not a pit, but a charcoal grill.
