1st Try at Chili

This is basically Gators recipe I just cut it in half and tweaked it a bit.

1/2 pound ground meat.
1/2 pound sausage.
1/2 of an onion.
1/2 of a bell pepper.
Some chopped up jalepenos
1 can water.
1/2 can tomato soup.
1/2 Rotell.
Juice from kidney beans.
1/2 can of kidney beans.
1/2 can of pinto beans.
2 Tbls. Suckle Busters Chili Seasoning.

Will let you know how it turns out in a few hours !! :coolnana:

Dont know how soon is too soon for taste testing but I already can tell I wont be using as much bell pepper next time, and maybee no rotel. But maybee by the time it cooks down it wont be that bad !??! :oops:

The thing I would do is thicken it up a bit. Get ya some masa flour and mix it with a bit of water. Add to the pot, stir it in and bring it to a simmer until it gets to the thickness you like... That is the only thing I could nit pick about it...

As mentioned, I like my chili to have some good body to it.

I dont have any masa. How else can I thicken it up???. I noticed that as well..

The bell peppers and onions will cook down into the chili and thicken it up a bit...mine usually ends up with just juice and meat by the time its done. The beans are gonna help too.

Drain the other half of cans of beans you didn't use and mash them using some of the juice from the pot and then add them to the pot.

Get ya some corn starch and dissolve a Tbsp of it in a little bit of cold water and add it to your chili. Make sure you bring it to a boil. You may have to repeat that step a couple times to get it to you desired thickness. I think it looks good though. Send a bowl of it down here, would ya?
