Labor Day Throw Down 2008

Postby Gator » Sat Aug 16, 2008 12:00 pm

Labor Day Throw Down 2008!

IT’S TIME! Our next Throw Down is scheduled for Labor Day 2008. The contest will start on Thursday August 28th and run through Tuesday September 2nd - turn in pictures must be taken during those days. All pictures must be submitted by 8:00 PM on Tuesday September 2nd. Entries will be posted in 1 of 4 categories; (1) Big hunks of meat, (2) Reeebs, (3) Thangs with Wangs and (4) Anything goes. Category winners will move to the final round and compete for Throw Down MVP (Most Valuable Picture).

The voting starts on Thursday September 4th.

WARM UP THOSE CAMERAS!

We are allowing all members to enter, including the sheriff and deputies this time around. We also decided to pare back on the prizes to focus the contest on fun. The winner gets fame, fortune, bragging rights, a TBBQF custom avatar and possibly an interview on the Food Network (yet to be confirmed).

Pictures should be approx 640x480 (or there about).

Official Throw Down Rules: http://www.texasbbqforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1338

Be sure to include your screen name in the email with the pics so we know who you are. We sometimes can't tell from just an email address.

Deputy OSD will head up the contest for us, BIG THANKS Jim!

Woohoo, another throwdown...

Does using original Texan rubs (and thus making it look good get me extra votes  )

I wonder who will take the title this time. Will it be a past MVP or will a new champion rise up to take the prize?

All I know is that you can't win it if you ain't in it

Ooh, my first throw-down! Hot dog!

This can only mean one thing: make sure there's enough space on the digital camera to take pictures of my smoker and finished food, and upload them on the Internet so people I don't know can look at them. My wife seems to think this is in some way odd. Not sure where she's coming from on that.... 8)

Rules question: can you submit more than one pic per category? Example: what if I wanted to submit two pics of two different menu items in the Anything Goes category? Allowed, or one item only?

I think I need to relax....
