I had some leftover wings from my party, so I tried to make some hot wings for the first time.
Gave them a hot and spicy rub.
Grilled them gently for 20-30mins.
Mopped lots of Stubb's Wicked Wings sauce on them and baked another 10-15mins.
Ready!
The were really hot and tasty. Skin could have been a bit crispier. Had them in both direct and indirect heat in the gasser for maybe total of 40 minutes.
Any tips or ideas how to improve? I found it a bit tricky to cook them without burning them.
Cheers,
Sterno

I thought it was illegal to export Stubbs. If it ain't it should as the law of supply and demand says if they be exporting the stuff then I'm paying too much!
Best wings are fried. Better yet, fried in a deep fat fryer. Sorry to say that, but after going through several bags of raw wings from Costco it has become a self apparrent trueth
PS, the wings here are usually disjointed into sections with tips going into the trash.

I was afraid of that. I don't have a deep fryer and I'm not planning on getting one!
Cheers,
Sterno
Since you don't have a deep fryer, you could cook the wings indirect, then put a pan on the grill with the sauce in it and finish the wings in the pan with the sauce. That would keep them from burning.

Poormans deep fryer. Load the weber with a pile of lump. Take a pot you don't care about, it should be a foot tall. Light lump and let it roar. Put pot fill slightly less than half full with oil. When oil gets to 375* put wings in.
SAFETY NOTICE, Don't spill grease onto lump.
SAFETY NOTICE, Lump pile should not exceed the radius of the pot by more than and inch.
SAFETY NOTICE, Have Fire Departments number handy.
SAFETY NOTICE, Set grill up as far from the house or other combustables as possible.
SAFETY NOTICE, Make sure wings are thawed.
Might be a better idea to use the stove

They sure did look good. My mother does hers in the oven. She's 80 and won't mess with a deep fryer, but she'll load up a cookie sheet with wings, oil them with olive oil and whatever spices, and bake in the oven. Not to bad....
