Looking for the best propane burner for crawfish

Postby Rghakazu » Tue Jun 25, 2019 3:54 am

I have been searching the internet for a new crawfish cooker.

I am ready to "do it right" this time around. What is the best cooker on the market?
Do I go with a jet type burner or the or the large banjo type burner?
What PSI regulator?

I have been looking at the Bayou classic burners but have stumbled on a few others.

I don't want to make a mistake this time and buy a cooker that just barely gets the job done. I need a cooker that will fire a 162 quart pot if needed. And do it fast!

What do some of you guys use for a home crawfish cooker?

And one pond question. How many can i keep with no filtration (just a fountain for aeration) i have canadian pondweed, brazillian pondweed, willow moss, duck weed, frogbit, White water lily, parrots feather, yellow flag iris in the pond

surely all these plants will act as a natural filter

also if i hook up a filter

1 how many fish with a filter

2 how many hours a day must i run the filter

I need useful advice

Thanks.

I prefer a 10" banjo burner with a high pressure regulator. The recovery time is quick and they are super quiet to operate.

Without a doubt, this is the best I ever used. I had a 120qt stainless pot and basket on top of it. It would get 25 gallons of water boiling in about 10 minutes. Not cheap, but I used that setup for over 10 years. Finally just got tired of it and sold it for half of what it was worth.
