Grillin' Between Cloudbursts
Raining all week. Watching the radar for the timing. We bought skinless boneless chicken thighs, discovered an old unopened bottle of BBQ sauce. Chicken trimmed and marinated overnight, then just scorched on the Weber Mini-Q. It was goooood.
And yes, it's THAT side dish...this time I was going for a Chinese Sesame Noodle flavor, off the top of my head: peanut butter, soy sauce, hot sauce, green onyawn. When I actually looked up the recipe, I discovered it was missing garlic, ginger, vinegar and actual sesame oil.
Tasted okay though. Next time I'll get it right.

Looks good and I'm betting that is indeed Lawn Gyland Couscous

I have seriously got to try some of that sometime, especially since I am a rice fanatic

Actually I like the stuff. Whether it’s a change from oatmeal or a substitute for rice in a meal. I’m fine with it. I like the larger Israel couscous. There’s something about it being different that I like a lot.

Re: Grillin' Between Cloudbursts
The couscous was especially good with the peanut butter mix. Next time we may try it with ramen noodles (a bit closer to the original).
OUP, the couscous is cooked in water, like pasta, I believe (SK will correct me if I'm wrong).

Yes usually but you can cook with a water and orange juice mix or just orange juice with cranberries, coconut, almonds and flax seeds. Add some honey and you have breakfast.

The kind with teeny grains is SO easy. Directions on package. Measure out the couscous. Boil a small amount of salted water. Dump couscous in boiling water, cover, remove from heat. Wait five minutes. Done.
By itself it's bland. You need to add a lot of flavorings, so it lends itself to just about anything: garden vejable medley, curry, Chinese-style, jalapeno butter, you name it.
I used the large Israeli kind once, but don't remember if it cooks that fast.
Thanks, everyone!
