I know this is weird and somewhat sacrilegious question.....
I have some Canadian relatives that rave about Texas BBQ when they come down and they're interested in trying their hand at BBQing.
Obviously shipping costs from the Southern U.S. to B.C is going to be equal to the cost of the pit.
I've done some searching but cant, not surprisingly, find any pit makers in the northern states or Canada.
Anyone ever heard of one?

You dont understand why this question would be considered slightly sacrilegious? I'll call this one of those "asking for a friend" moments.
Google was obviously my first stop and it didnt bear fruit.
Got anything else?

No idea on pitmakers in Canada but an UDS can be built anywhere.
Curious to see what responses you get.

My Cousins Husband really wants to go with the traditional offset smoker.
He kinda has the authentic bug going on and I can't say that I blame him, while I've smoked on all the different type of cookers I always use the offset when i want the true BBQ experience.
The closest to B.C. I've found is out of California for a real pit.

Have you not followed?
I'm trying to find a pit maker closer to B.C. so my Cousins Husband doesnt have to pay thousands in shipping from the southern U.S.
I'm researching for him because he doesnt know #$%& about BBQ pits but wants to learn.

Is Giggle more accurate? .....J/K
I've tried Google but it wasnt much help. I know I've heard of pit makers in the great white north over the years but be darned if I can find em again.

Since I am a pellet head I'll throw in this suggestion. Some of the best pellet cookers are made by Dansons a Canadian company.
Brands include Louisiana Pit Boss and others.

Wont argue with that since I really dont know anything about those manufactures.
However I do have a MAK 2 Star General which I have to say is a great machine!! It's really accurate and turns out great BBQ but the flavor still doesnt measure up to a stick burner.
My Cousins Husband(is there a shorter way to say that?) is looking for the traditional offset smoker be darned with staying up all night!!!!........
Of course that attitude wasn't apparent until I told him about running propane so ya could get a bit of sleep.

It is when you're doing an 18 hour Brisket by yourself. Once you get the bark the rest is just window dressing anyway.
You could fire up the pellet smoker when the brisket reaches the stall,or you could fire up the oven.

If that is your take on stick burning , you should just give your cousin yours. Maybe I am just to much of a traditionalist.

LOL...I was first introduced to BBQ when I was Ten.
I've been BBQing seriously since 85 and have been in many comps...
There's a reason they dont let you use gas but it's all tradition, which I'm fine with.
But once and if you wrap the heat source no longer matters.
