Charcoal use

Postby RUBYRW » Sun Jun 24, 2018 11:31 am

When doing a long smoke[brisket], using a combination of wood/charcoal...how much charcoal do you go through? I have done straight wood and after getting a good coal base. Other times I use both. Once I wrap the meat I normally switch to coal only to save wood.

It will usually vary rig to rig. On my OK Joe, I will go through 16 lbs or more on a 12-14 hour cook at 250 deg.
