Just wanted to share a few pics that reminds me there's still hope in this world.
First up are Evans Actual first pair of walking shoes that my Mom sent out to Oregon to get Bronzed and mounted on a plaque...
Can't tell you how the wife and I felt, but she was in monsoon tears mode.
Me...., I had to look the other way, turned a 6'5" 275 lb guy into mush !!
Grandma's are definitely the most special on Earth :)
Second set of pics are from a customer, and now a friend from Upstate NY. We had made his wife a special ring with thier kids birthstones as requested. We decided to make one matching for him as well on us because we know what it would mean to him.
He sent us a pretty Kool and very touching reply and then told us that he and his partner ( they just started a woodworking business ) wanted to send us some candle holders.
We never expected to receive what we got.
They use a technique using Electricity and Soda, very Kool holders.
Just wanted to share some ( feel good ) stuff with y'all :):)

Wow, that is some amazing stuff, your friend must really like you both. How do they do the shoe thing??? I have my first pair of shoes here somewhere, courtesy of my late mum.

Re: Sharing some thoughtfulness
I think somebody has been using some Brasso on those booties (as well they deserve). Used to be such a time honored tradition. Have mine somewhere in the garage in a box from where Mom saved them with all my school papers and first writings about wierd and odd stuff. Powerful indeed is a Mother’s love, what’d they used to say, “The hand that rocks the cradle, moves the world.” With Boots Jr. going off to Purdue in the fall, all of this is close to home. Brings to mind the concept of of time: every birthday is precious, every reunion a blessing, every cook the opportunity to at last and finally, get it PERFECT and right, one last time.

Typing with wet eyes probably dust in computer room. Wow, PoconoPal, not only are those awesome but they took me back to a time when my Grandparents had Bronzed Baby Shoes of all the 5 Grand Kids on a special shelf in their home. I'm thinking my brothers were Bronzed Baby C'boy Boots. To me it's the Family Love and Family Togetherness that we had back then that we are watching fade away. Kudos to your Mom for holding on a Valued Tradition for a lot of us.
