Greetings from North Idaho

Postby P.Z. » Mon Oct 02, 2017 11:59 pm

Although I need much more practice cooking, it has quickly become my favorite pastime.

I live in rural North Idaho and enjoy the seclusion. What I see in the distance from my back deck has not changed in 30 years, and my former drive to work was about 10 miles and had not a single traffic light along the way.

I just retired a short while ago, and retirement is just what others have said - I never seem to have enough time to do what little I manage to get done. :D

I cook on a variety of devices because I do not have the experience to cook adequately on any single cooker, so this is my stable:

Pellet cookers: GMG Davy, and Traeger with Pellet Pro PID
S.R.G
Bradley OBS
Big Green Egg Mini
Gas grill
Wood fired pizza oven

I'm glad to be here ;)

I purchased a masonry kit a few years ago, and just completed the color coat last week - takes me a long time to complete my projects

It is supposed to be terra cotta, but it kind of looks like the great pumpkin to me :laughing7:

A few of us have migrated from the Pellet forum. Looks like we're getting the band back together.

The funny part is that I've been using the oven the entire time - I've just been too lazy to get it completed to the point where it looks presentable, but it was functional. :laughing7:

Thanks for the welcome OUP, and I'm looking forward to browsing folks methods and ideas so I can apply them to my own cooks
