New guy Tx hill country

Postby FAT » Wed Aug 09, 2017 7:29 pm

I found this place researching my next smoker purchase.

Thanks for the information.

I used a cheapo Char-grill 13 years, until it was dangerous.

My next one is high quality purpose-built.

I will post hard lessons once I get it broken in.

Matt delivered my Hogg smoker this afternoon and I already have the first round of seasoning going.

Couple more rounds then I will start with some chicken.

Thanks again for all of the information on the forum.

One good seasoning is all you need to begin cooking. Rub it down good with veg oil, get a good high heat going and let it burn off. You will be surprised how well it will glaze over inside with just the one round. Oh, and welcome to your new addiction.

Thanks for the tips and welcomes.

With any weather luck, I should get my first practice cook in and will have some photos.
