The couple of times (way back) we made duck, it seemed too fatty. Maybe it needs low 'n' slow.

Sailor - If you want to give it another chance, score the skin in a cross hatched pattern about 1/2" apart (like in above pic) and give it a good seer to render off a lot of the fat. Then Roast until you hit the desired temp.
