First cook Saturday Camp Chef Lux

Postby bobcat1 » Wed Jun 14, 2017 7:12 pm

Okay I'm cooking brisket, ribs, chicken and pork loin. I like a good smoke taste. I got a 12" Amazn smoke tube I'm gonna load with Hickory. Never cooked on a Pellet Pooper before. I'll do 3-2-1 on the ribs Chicken and pork loin by temp. Brisket will be by temp and probe and touch.

I wonder what temp I should set it on to start. High Smoke for a a while and then maybe 250-275 or just 250- 275 until done???

Leave it on your Smoke setting as long as you can and you won't be sorry - - - good luck

I use the high smoke setting (temp is around 225) for the first 5 or 6 hours on a brisket. When I wrap it, the temp goes up to 250. Never had a problem with smoke flavoring and I don't use a tube.

Brisket turned out best of all. Super Moist. Hit 200 and let rest an hour. Limp test was good and pulled apart easily. Who says you can't get a smoke ring on a pellet pooper?

Very satisfied. I learned a lot today. 11 hours cook time on the brisket, 6 hours on the ribs and chicken. Pork loin about 4 hours.

I want to thank all of you for your help over the last month with your tips and helping me make good choices. Y'all are awesome! :salut:
