The time has come!

Postby pdog83 » Fri Jun 09, 2017 5:50 am

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and for the past 6 months I've slowly been collecting the material I'll need to get started on my smoker/trailer build. Last weekend I was able to cut the opening for my fb to cc opening thanks to the handy online calculator. The thing that I'm having trouble with right now if figuring out how big the holes that I need to cut out for my fb vent need to be. Im using a 26" pipe and the calculator recommends 38.23 sq.in. for my air inlet area but I don't know how to convert that into inches for holes to cut out. This is the style I'm wanting to go with. Any help you can throw my way is greatly appreciated. This is my first build and I'm really looking forward to it.

Hello Deputy! This is the calculator I used but I'm having trouble figuring out what to do with the 38.23 sq.in. it recommends the inlet to be. I don't know what size the two pie pieces need to be in inches when I cut them out. :dont:

Thanks kam.....im still confused what I do with the 38.23 sq.in. with the butterfly calculator. Do I want the opening % to be close to 50% and is the number next to opening area represent the two pie piece cut outs? This is a learning process for me, sorry for the frustration I'm causing.
