Whole lamb on a spit

Postby finnsmoker » Thu May 18, 2017 4:41 am

As a new member just wanted to share a nice memory from our midsummer night party couple of years ago. Home grown lamb roasted for hours, enjoyed with good friends.

what a great down home style picture that is, especially with the jack stand, cinder blocks and wicker love seat - - - Lamb looks delicious  :salut:

Here another picture. We turned it just by hand couple of times a hour and supported spit with a stick to keep it in position. Would be quite easy to improve spit, add proper stands, maybe a motor operated turner etc :)

This reminds me EXACTLY of the fella I used to buy lamb sandwiches from when I was in Sarajevo. Great looking setup and this is, in my humble opinion, the BEST way to cook and serve lamb; right on a spit

I concur, I've recently done pig on a spit and I added a whole leg of lamb on the end of it. My daughter said it was the best lamb she ever tasted.
