My wife's weekend request

Postby bondobill » Sun Apr 09, 2017 1:46 pm

Been crazy busy at the shop last few weeks.
With our addition to our building plus being down one body tech which we don't want to fill till the new addition is done I'm having to put in 10 to 11 hour days being the paint prepper.
My daughters on vaca also so my wife is filling in for her as secretary. Anyways we look forward to the week end meals cause we be just too darn old and tired after work during the week to cook much.
Friday night my wife made the comment that she was looking forward to my cooking this week end. She requested bbqed steaks for Sat. night and fresh fried Salmon on Sunday.
Picked up her fav beef cut, a tenderloin and got myself a rib eye yesterday.
Sorry didn't get a photo of the tender loins. My wife couldn't wait through the rest period

Bill, I think I'd like it there, nice waterfront friendly feel after looking at pics of the area. Cannery landing looks real nice. Again thanks for the info.

Catching a salmon was on my bucket list many years ago, but a shoulder injury prevents me casting a decent line to catch one. Within an hours drive you can catch salmon at mouth of the rakaia river or waimakariri river. I have bottled salmon in my pantry I preserved with fish caught by a friend. Did you fish when you were in nz bill.?

Yes we are blessed with great rivers, I was booked to go game fishing in cairns about 10 years ago, turned up at marina at 5 am, no one there. They cancelled. Nuts. The drive from cairns to Brisbane is an awesome drive. Done it twice.great places to stay along the way.
Sorry to digress, but bill , you and I always wander off, lmao.

Curious to know, or see how you do the fried salmon? Guess I have never had it that way.
