Anybody know where I can buy a Pit Ham? I'm wanting to try out Malcolm Reeds recipe for Easter. I went to Costco and Kroger today but couldn't find one.
I'm in Little Elm north of Dallas.
Thanks!

Re: Pit Ham
I'm taking out a ham from the freezer later, funny you should raise this. We normally have hot baked ham for easter with the family but son has a wedding in Melbourne at easter so we are having it a week early.
Good luck with yours

Is ham a bit short over there???

No, just not sure who carries the type I'm looking for. Might not happen anyway, may have to get some more back injections late next week so I might have to order one from Rudy's.
Anybody know if Karma Que still sells theirs? They sure were good.

Re: Pit Ham
Sure, it's pretty simple. Smoke to 140 degrees and glaze with this mixture:
– ½ Cup Light Brown Sugar
– ½ Cup Honey
– ¼ Cup Coca-Cola
– 2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard
– 2 Teaspoons BBQ Rub

I dunno…more yield, presentation maybe?
The hunks of ham at the store already had stuff on the outside of them.
