Burned Out Firebox
I have a New Braunfeld Smoker that I have had for years, it's smoked alot of meat on it. Anyway the firebox burned out. Can a new bottom be welded in approx how much estimate. Or is it better to just get rid of it and get a new one? Help!! Who does welding in Frisco Texas?

Which model? I had a hondo for years. If it had burned out I would have replaced the cooker instead of the box. Price would probably be about the same.

Take a look at this Parts Link, find your model and then you can probably do a price comparison. It might even be able to be bolted on depending on the construction.

I thought Academy had fireboxes for one of those smokers for about $40. I looked on their website but I couldn't find it but I know I have seen them there. Just unbolt the old and put the new one on.

Now that I think about it I think it was a Chargriller brand or something other than New Braunfels. I am going by there this afternoon and will take a look.

You can skin it. Just have a sheet metal shop roll you a piece of 1/8" sheet metal. If you do not have a welder just drill and bolt it into place.

Talk to R&L Mobile Welding in Allen, he'll drive to yer place and is reasonable. Gave me a reasonable price on welding a couple small jobs for me, one on a gate and one on some angle braces in the new barn. Did good work, and very polite and gentleman to my wife like a lady (bonus points). Will talk yer ear off a bit, but so what's new about that from a tradesman? Nice people.

Re: Burned Out Firebox
I would combine the excellent advice of the previous 2 posters.
I would step it up to rolled 1/4" to fit and then have it welded in.
