I thought we were going out to eat Lunch today until the Wiffy came out of the bedroom at High Noon and said: "would you mind fixin me a lean cuisine?" - - - brain goes "the best laid plans of mice and husbands - fade fade fade - - - - - "
Then brain kicks in again and thinks "voila, those huge jalapenos are in the frig" - - but not for long
"IT'S ABT TIME boys and girls"
Drug out the penners, owens hot sausage, green own-yawns, bacon, Hootchie Mama and pepper jack cheese and quietly shouted "let the games begin"
browned some owens and own-yawns
sprinkled with Suckle Busters Hootchie Mama and grated some cheese on top
mixed thoroughly and filled prepared penner halves with mixture
wrapped filled penners with bacon and placed on foil on cookie sheet while oven pre-heated to 400
flipped at 15 minutes
continued baking at 400 for another 15 minutes and then flipped again and finished baking until bacon was as done as I PREFER - - which is right before crunchy and the "a la ME" in the subject title - - - plated them next to a dipping sauce of Suckle Busters Chipotle Sauce

Re: ABT's a la "me"
Well there... ya done did it - sparked a craving for ABT's. I'll be putting some on this weekend for sure.
I like how you use pepper halves. For years I've done a whole pepper wrapped and tried halves once (with extra filling) and finally go the right ratio of cream cheese to bacon to pepper. Should be a great opportunity to try out my new bottle of HogWaller.... [drool]

Re: ABT's a la "me"
thanks, Gents, probably my best to date "even an old blind hawg finds an acorn yanno?"
Sailor, those P.T.s were an idea that a member here turned me onto (I apologize for forgetting exactly who it was ) Anyhow they are butcher's meat card pins and now I don't have to scrape the burnt toothpick ashes off of my bacon wrapped efforts.
anyone know how to keep bacon from shrinking so bad during a cook like this

How soon they forget and you just get those aside like an old sock.
Dang that looks good, I could put down a few of those.
