Anybody cook in dutch ovens??

I have often wondered about polishing new CI like they did with the old stuff. Supposedly the new stuff holds the seasoning better. The last time I really seasoned a new piece I stunk up the house to high heaven, wife was a tad disturbed. I am thinking about seasoning it on the grill outside, no smell in the house.

We do that, too!

Yeah I always have to season mine outside. Learned that lesson early on in the game!! (My wife beating me upside the head!!)

I like to cook in dutch ovens and own three myself. My son is a by scout and we camp out every month or two. Something good is usually going on in a dutch oven when we're out with the scouts. :)

We used to have a section here on the forum dedicated to dutch oven and campfire cooking, but it never took off.
