Recently moved to Texas

Postby downthehill » Sat Oct 08, 2016 8:10 pm

Hello, everyone. I recently relocated my family to Austin from SC and stumbled across two recent discoveries: (1) HEB and (2) TX BBQ Forum. I'm looking forward to learning more about TX style BBQ and possibly sharing what little I know. In any event, I will be seasoning my recent purchase (Lyfe Style 20X32 on sale here in Austin), as I had to part ways with my favorite smoker and cob oven due to the move. More to come soon, as I learn how to use my new smoker/grill.
Warm regards,

Andrew

I appreciate it, gentlemen. I'm firing up the smoker a little later this afternoon (cure, test run), with plans to cook tomorrow. I'll post pictures of the result--the good, the bad, and the ugly. :laughing7:

Welcome to the forum, and welcome to Texas.
HEB will be one of your best choices for groceries, depending on the area you moved to, I have lived in the Austin area for over twenty five years, The all natural meat at the HEB is some pretty good meat, so If your store does not have this in the butcher section look for a store that does, as stores differ from location to location. Been to the Carlinoas a time or two, I hope you are settling in and enjoy your new surroundings. There are some really good cooks on this forum so you picked a great place to be a member of on both occasions.
