Hey guys.
I'm new to the forum but have been BBQ'ing quite a while. In the back yard I'm using a Char-griller offset smoker. Last year I built a monster offset cabinet smoker (pics below). I planned on selling from it but now am looking at the competition side of Bbq. I've entered one small (8 teams) charity event and walked away with 1st place brisket and 2nd place chili. I'm by no means a pro or anywhere near ready for the big time but I plan to find out exactly where I fall.
Expect to see me around here asking questions and sharing pics often.
Bo

While I look forward to the older years when I can say anything I want, check the mail in my underwear, and flip off little kids without getting in trouble, I'm not quite there yet (that isn't to be taken literally, just paraphrasing lines from a movie). 79 is my birth year. "Old Man" is what the grandbaby calls me.
A little background on that: the misses is a couple years younger than me so every time I complain about regular aches and pains, the way kids act "nowadays", etc her immediate response is always "that's because you are old". It happens enough that the kids are regularly saying it too. I figured I better do something about it before the grandkids start in on it so I picked my own cool grandpa name. Between us we have 6 girls (I'm sure that has nothing to do with the rapid aging I've been experiencing lately) so it's only a matter of time before there are acres worth of young pups running around calling me old man, and that sounds kinda cool to me.

Always remember OM79 - - "growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional" - - - - grand youngins will keep you young if you let them
