Bobber, think yer Dad would be very proud. He looks more than a fisherman; I bet he was an Angler.

Salute.

Hello Sir, that is a very nice rig. I'm curious about the firebox and your gas assist set up. How are you going to set up the rest of the firebox for burning wood or charcoal?

Hey two guys. Thanks for asking. The gas is going to be my primary heat source. I plan on using a slide in pellet or wafer tray for the smoke part. Where I live I only have juniper trees available and I think that would make for some nasty smoke outs. The gas is all ran off of a thermostat. I can get as much as 300k but with the three burners and can isolate any of the three. My wall thickness on the tank is 3/8". Once I get up to temp. I don't think it will take much to hold the desired temp.

This is my first pit smoker I have built so I hope the gas heat is a success. The fire box is dual wall and insulated with 1" insulation. I will keep y'all posted. The time draws near for its maiden voyage.

We hosted a guided bow hunt this week for a gentleman from Houston. He was very successful in his hunt. I was telling him about my pit smoker and he swore I had to be from Texas. Funny, I have never even been there.
