new from austin

Postby ranchostarvo » Fri Jun 24, 2016 6:06 pm

Hi I am Michael. I work in the energy industry in Austin TX. I have the chance to eat great bbq in Austin and try all different types. I currently own a Hasty Bake Legacy, Weber E-310 and soon to own a Pitt's and Spitt's pellet grill. I used to own a Grand Hall/Cafe gas smoker and a 22" WSM, but gave and sold them, respectively. Can't wait to get the S&P delivered and meat on it. I have no tried Franklin's, but have tried just about every other BBQ joint in town.

edit: Pitt's and Spitts, not spitt's and pitts.

I'll make sure to post picks when they trailer it up to Austin and drop it off. I don't know why my first post disappeared. Never used this type of forum board before.

big friendly welcome....
Aaron Franklin has a great business, I have eaten there once, the line is what gets me, I'm just not a stand in line type of guy...
I like you have eaten as several places in and around Austin, I think I like to compare what they sell, to what I cook, It keeps things interesting.
I think once you get used to the forum format you will become an addict like most of the rest of us....
be sure and post often, ask questions there is a big bunch of good cooks on here and they are friendly with their advice...

Welcome! Ah, Mr. Aaron Franklin. Another example of way overblown due to the celebrity status. I've eaten there once and yes, it is good, I disagree highly it is worth that kind of wait.
