Burned out my Firebox
After having my smoker for 16 years the firebox rotted out. My question can a new bottom be welded in and how much, or is it just better getting a new one. By the way the smoker at the auction was sold.

Welding a plate in the bottom can be an option as long as the new plate extends beyond the burned out or deteriorated areas. But you'll likely need a new firebox sooner than later anyway.

You might check with your local high school's trade shop and see if they could fix you up - - most of them are looking for projects that the students can learn something on and it could save you some buck$ also - - - - however, you might do a thorough look at what you are sending time and money after - - - chances are the rest is showing some age as well Good Luck and be sure and let us know how all this comes out for you.

i Guess your all right, after having it for so long it really is on it's last leg so I'm going to get rid of it.. The good news is I get to buy a new one.
