Restore old bbq pit trailer

Postby southtexas bowhunter » Sun Oct 25, 2015 11:47 am

First off this is my first post on the forum I am a new member.

Bought this trailer from my uncle it's been sitting in the yard for around 7 years+/-, I should have took a before pic it wasn't on the jack, covered in vines, and oak leaves. My cousin, brother and Father cleaned it up and discovered it needs new hubs and of course wheels and tires. the bad thing about this guy is that it doesn't have a fire box. I am going to try and design a few different layouts before we do anything to the pit itself. There is a couple of other things that can be done to the trailer before we make any adjustments to the pit itself. wanna make it road worthy so i can get it to my house for design/layout. Will update as the process continues.

Welcome to the forum southtexas bowhunter. :D Are you planning on leaving the cooker in its current position or are you going to spin it and put the firebox on the end?

Thanks! I think i am planning on spinning it and putting the firebox on the end. Currently going through different design scenarios in my head and going to put them on paper today.

Welcome, those look like they may possibly be Ford 5x5 1/2 hubs and if you were closer, I have a pair of decent 16" hubs and tires you could have. Good Luck with the build.
