new fella here, question about cookoffs and knives

Postby metalbender » Mon Jun 29, 2015 12:46 pm

hi everyone :)
my name is Shane Stainton
my wife and I make knives. we usually sell them at gun shows but I had a moment o clarity as it were and was considering attending BBQ events.Ive got a couple questions. a) would that be allowed at most shows? b) think folks would like a blade forging demo if we kept the fuel charcoal instead of coal? c) and what are the biggest baddest BBQ events here in the great State of Texas? :D
thanks ahead o time look forward to meeting you all

Welcome Shane. I'll let the other guys speak as to whether or not you can do that at comps but I think it sound like a good idea.

Good luck to you!

Big Welcome Shane, you might look at the cookoff calenders of the various cooker associations and they will have calenders and the promoters contact info. Feel free to post some pics or videos and contact info on the forumn as well. Cookers love good knives.
