Texas BBQ, the italian way

Postby Marco » Wed May 20, 2015 7:06 am

Hi guys,

my name is Marco, writing from Italy.
I got to this forum because of my love for Texas and BBQ.
I'm italian, I live in Italy but I lived for a while when kid in a small town called Venus, south of Dallas.
I recently visited Texas again, when I had a small bbq trip and, most important, attended a bbq class with Redneck Cooker Jeff Wyatt (with my friend Mike, I think he is a member of the forum too). I had a great time and learned a lot of things, hoping to replicate here at home and in competition!

Everything was great, me and my father have been at Millers BBQ in Belton, Louie Mueller in Taylor, Black's and Kreuz in Lockhart and Lockhart's Smokehouse in Plano.
Plus the class with Jeff, the main reason why I came across!
since april I cook as seen during the class and everything from brisket to chicken and pork got much better :texas: :texas: :texas:

I feel Texas my second home, where I'd love to live!
I have
- 2 Proq Excel Elite (I think known as Napoleon in USA),
- 1 Pit barrel cooker,
- 1 4 racks Bradley digital,
- 1 Outdoorchef rover charcoal kettle,
- 1 Outdoorchef Montreux gas kettle. (Outdoorchef is a Swiss bbq company, not sold in USA).

I don't have a backyard i have a terrace, I live in an apartment in 5 story building, so I can't get a offset smoker!
