Re: local pit builders?
I've been wanting to go check these guys out. They are in Tyler but definitely closer than the Houston area pit builders.

Yes..... By all means visit your prospective pit builder in person and get a feel for their quality and customer service.
As a former owner of an ETSC pit I can say do check them out.
My final opinions of ETSC are better placed in a P/M if interested.

Re: local pit builders?
Paul & Tyler build serious pits and are real good folks I would have recommended them but the Op wanted Texas builders. JM2C I'd pay the freight without blinkin an eye.Rodcrafter wrote:It is a little out of your area, but you will be glad you checked this one out http://www.shirleyfabrication.com

so far they are on the top of my list, but distance and wait time are making me hesitate so im just checking all options before committing, also not that I expect any problems with the pit but if one arises I dont want to drive for 10 hours to get it resolved

I know Paul personally and I can pretty much guarantee you if one of his cookers fail because of something he or Tyler did they will be coming to you.
Yes their wait time is stretched out a bit but no where near like some of the other builders.
bullypitbbq builds a nice cooker as well.

You are very welcome Brother.
Gotta give credit where credit is due. Your work is spot on and your cookers show pride in what you do.
