local cookoffs in the North Texas area?

Postby OutlawNinja » Tue Nov 04, 2014 10:57 am

I was just browsing the lonestar bbq and IBCA pages and it looks like no local cook-offs for me until February. I am from the Collin County area... anyone planning on traveling the next few months?

Also how important is it to register your team with Lonestar or IBCA? Thanks!

The season is typically over until late Feb. One of the closest ones to us is in Waxahachie, usually around the first weekend in March.

It is important to be registered if you are chasing points or want to be eligible for added money events in IBCA, I am not sure if Lonestar has added money events.
You do not have to be a member of an organization to compete in the events but by joining you are supporting the organization through yearly membership.
I hope this helps. :D
Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

Not a large cook, usually 20 to 30 teams, but it is a real friendly cook with nice ag barn & restrooms for visitors to hang out in if weather is kinda inclement! It's one of our favorites and is close! :D :D If'n ya show up, look us up, Big Country BBQ. Would be pleased to have ya visit with us.
