COOK OFF News

Postby Vincent Bonura » Sun Feb 08, 2015 12:12 pm

I am trying to initiate an annual event at out Knights of Columbus hall in northwest Houston.
The cooking area and parking are paved and will marked accordingly.
We are attempting to start with our inaugural event on April 10-11, 2015.
We will award a first, second and third place award and plaque.
This is open for discussion as we are just beginning.
We are attempting to have a custom car club and bike club on display during the event.
Teams will sign on Friday between 4 and 6 pm, we will supply the meat .
the grounds will be open to the public from 6:30- 11:00 PM Friday
and from 11AM until on Saturday.
Brisket judging will be at noon on Saturday with awards and plaques presented
We will supply each cooking team with a tagged brisket, some chicken and sausage for cooking.

thanks
Viince

If you want a lot of cookers to show up, I would suggest you get the contest sanctioned and most cooks like to bring their own meat! Good Luck to ya!! :salut:

I agree with Ed. If you want teams sanction your event and follow their rules.
This will get you started. :D
