I ran out of casings, went to our Mexican store and got some from them. Longest casings I have ever used, Most were about 8 feet. Just guessing.
Anyway, I ordered some of the pre-tubed casing from sausage maker. Never used pre-tubed before. Directions say to soak over night "OK" then it says to flush them. My question is how you gonna flush casings already on a tube. I was thinking it would make them easier to get on my stuffer tube. My understanding was all you had to do was slide on to your stuffer and pull the tube out. Thanks CF

Re: Sausage Casings
New one on me I've never seen pre-tubed casings before.
Their description on the site doesn't say anything about flushing...

Re: Sausage Casings
Well I soaked them over night, on the tube. Changed water couple times. There was 5 tubes to package, says it will make 50 pounds per package. That's 10 pounds per tube. I had 15 pounds of meat. chose the tube that looked the fullest.
No blowouts and really clean and was not salty inside. Went on the tube easy the casing lining was a little tight to remove.
Some of the casing did pull from underneath the top layer of casing. Over all a little different but easier. Not sure it worth the extra cost. CF

Re: Sausage Casings
Guys, haven't been on here much lately, but I'm still around and doing sausage. Come across this thread, and if it's any help, I have found an outlet for casing. DeWied International in San Antonio. The best prices I've found, and they don't care what size operation you, your discounts are from the amount you buy. There phone is 210-661-6161, and there web site is; www.dewied.com.
