2nd Annual Buna Redbud Festival BBQ Cook Off

February 13-14, 2015, the Buna Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 2nd Annual Buna Redbud Festival BBQ Cook Off. Buna is 30 miles West of the Louisiana border, 35 miles North of Beaumont, 80 miles South of Lufkin, and home to the Redbud Festival for 43 years. IBCA Sanctioned, $125 entry fee for the 3 meat categories, plus a Friday night "Anything off the Pit" with a $20 entry and 50/50 split. $2000 guaranteed payout, paying top 5 in each meat category, plus trophies. Check in begins at Noon on Friday, water and electricity is available, but hoses and extension cords will be needed by all. Last year we had 21 teams in a first year event and hope to at least reach that number again.

Yeah I know that Sunday rule really sucks. I just went ahead and did it because you don't get a chance to cook in a field like this very often.

15 teams confirmed with another 5 or 6 on the fence. Long range forecast shows in the 60's for the highs, 40's for the lows. Hope to see you there!
